Kirk House
1995
Houston, Texas
Located on a pie-shaped corner lot, this 2500SF house is organized by two distinctly different volumes. A single story, L-shaped building, finished in stucco, contains the garage, kitchen and entry loggia; in massing and detailing it is reminiscent of older bungalows in the neighborhood. This wing intersects a two-story bar building, clad in limestone block, which is fragmented into a living room oriented toward the street and bedroom quarters focused on the courtyard.
